In honor of Earth Month, The Green Toolbelt designated an employee for an hour each day [including weekends, for a total of 30 days] to pick up refuse along the city streets. The plan was to collect the rubbish, catalog it, recycle it and/or repurpose it with the main goal of helping to beautify our little community, while also bringing litter into the public eye. And, to be honest, we enjoy being outside and doing whatever we can to help the planet.
Looking back to the beginning of the project, it has been a very eye-opening experience that we plan to continue, even though the initial 30 days are up. We will be on litter patrol every week on Tuesday afternoons. If you’d like to join us, we can be reached at lochnessie@thegreentoolbelt.com.
